Still got some unanswered questions?
The Farm Assistant Questions (our FAQ's) are the place to find out more.
We hope the following questions provide you any answers about the Krafty Farm Assistant system that you might still have however we definitely don't pretend to know everything about your farm, or how you want your farm to operate therefore if there is still a question you have that is not answered here please feel free to Contact us and ask.
Although our system was originally designed for time-poor professionals who own farms and rely on assistants and/or farm hands, Krafty Farm Assistant is also now being utilised by many full time farmers to ensure their work requirements and maintenance schedules are kept up-to-date, as well as having a historical record of all maintenance and servicing.
Each client is given their own password protected custom folder on our servers. Your address will be similar to http://www.farmassistant.com.au/XXXXXXXXXX. XXXXXXXX will be a uniquely generated code ensuring your farm can't be identified by its code.
Yes, like everything in the Krafty Farm Assistant system your folder name can also be adapted to your needs. We do prefer to use custom generated codes for security reasons but you are welcome to choose your own folder name.
Yes, however we can not be responsible for anonymity, security or technical problems when installed on other companies servers. Due to a wide variety of configurations on internet servers some functions may not work correctly or as shown on this site when installed on other servers. All updates when hosted by another server are charged at full technical support rates. Please contact us for further information regarding running Krafty Farm Assistant from your own server.
No - a web browser is all you need to run Krafty Farm Assistant. At Krafty Farm Assistant we prefer to run Firefox and all our designing is done with Firefox, but we do test in all leading browsers which means whether you choose Internet Explorer, Safari, or even Chrome your tailored system will still run.
No - fees charged by Krafty Farm Assistant are for design, maintenance and hosting service. No licence fee will ever be required to run this system.
We make every attempt through server scripting and other technologies to ensure search engines do not index client sites on our server. However, some less reputable search engines do ignore these requests and for that reason we cannot guarantee search engine listing won't happen. We can promise that if it does, we will make every attempt to have it removed as soon as it is brought to our attention. This is the reason we suggest that personal and or identifying information (registration plates etc) are not shown and custom generated folder names are preferred.
There is no limit to the number of items which can be listed. Each item added simply extends the side menus further down the page.
Just as there is no limit to the number of items that can be added to your asset inventory, there is no limit to the number of categories. The demo sites are for illustration purposes only and when we customise your site, we can add any categories you require.
Yes, you decide what information you want to appear.
No, during testing we found that email reminders from both the calendar and the workshop had a tendency to confuse users, especially on days where multiple tasks were due. We found it was easier to use the Asset Inventory calendar as a visual reminder and only allow the workshop to email reminders of those tasks.
The idea behind Krafty Farm Assistant has always been to make the system as simple to use as possible and sending each user multiple emails about some or all tasks is not something our clients have labeled as easy.
No, you can have no pictures or you can choose to use pictures for some items and not others. We can also remove any images from your site if you do not find them useful.
Our current clients prefer to use images to remove confusion about which item is being listed and from a technical aspect it makes our job at the design studio easier also. It is especially helpful in instances where there are multiple items with a similar description, like two tractors or two water pumps.
Additional images may require layout and design changes and there may be additional charges. Before making any changes, we will discuss your request with you, let you know what will need to be changed, provide you with options. Depending on what is required, we may not charge at all.
We encourage the client to provide us with photographs of the items. We can accept any resolution and any size as we resize before putting them on your site. The photographs should be mailed to our address on either CD/DVD or USB (flash) drive (returnable upon request). We cam accept photographs by email but please talk to us before sending any email attachments to ensure your email doesn't exceed size limitations and is refused delivery.
While we do offer a photographic service (at an extra cost) we can only offer this service to our some clients and it is not possible for us to service all locations across Australia. We are based in Gippsland Victoria and if you would like us to take your photos, please contact us.
While our demo site can be used as a guide, we can also include other information you consider relevant that is not listed. We do not assume anything when it comes to your equipment. The more relevant the information you can provide us the more accurate and useful your inventory will be.
Krafty Farm Assistant relies on the information you provide and that is why we consult with you to ensure you know exactly what you need to provide. We can correct incorrect information on your system at any time but it is up to you to provide us with accurate data.
Yes. There may be some additional fee dependant on the time required to include any files. Please contact us if you would like this option.
The number of users does depend on your chosen hosting package however if your user requirement exceeds your allowed limit ask us and we will see what we can do for you. All users you allow access are granted the same rights to add messages and will see any information already posted. It is up to you to decide who will have access but we will discuss this further when we work out your requirements with you.
You can choose your password. Passwords are set up during the design phase. We can use random passwords or one provided by you. We do advise not to use the same password you use for banking or any other sites which store your most important personal information. We can provide you with advice about choosing a password when we discuss your site requirements.
If you loose or forget your password you can email us and we will reset it for you as soon as we get your email request. Note the email must come from an email account registered in our system and you may be asked to provide further information to prove your identity as a part of our security measures.
Passwords are stored in an encrypted database, we do not keep a physical record of these password (even the ones we set up) and therefore can not tell you or any other user what a password is, we can only reset it to a new password.
If spec sheets and or manuals can't be provided to us by the client (which often they can't) during the design phase we will search the manufacturer's site to see if they provide them free of charge. A link is provided purely as a guide for clients to gather further information. We do not guarantee any information in the spec sheets but we do endeavour to find the applicable data for as many items as we can.
In the interests of making everything easily identifiable and traceable to each user we have made deleting of maintenance reports unavailable to clients. Clients can email us and ask us to remove entries which aren't needed or made by mistake and we will remove them.
No, however if the system is abused and many requests, or frequent requests are received we may charge a fee for the removal of such entries.
During our testing phase, we had no spammers get through our security checks. Although we do everything we can to stop spam from unauthorised users, new technologies are constantly being developed to beat security.
Just like any online service we cannot offer a 100% spam-free guarantee but, as administrators, we are notified of any such intrusions and will put a stop to it. We will also tell you if you need to take any precautions to prevent it from happening again.
The workshop area is only open to those you give access too (and Krafty Farm Assistant's administrator). To gain access, we must set up a username and password for each person. For extra security, we don't allow manual registration.
